Lodwar hospital has been refurbished with help from the UK. All the children in this ward are being treated for complicated acute malnutrition.

Turkana - one of the poorest regions in Kenya - has been hit hard by the current food crisis. The loss of livestock due to drought has left thousands in need of humanitarian assistance.

Britain was one of the first countries to respond to the crisis. To date, the British public have donated over £72 million to the DEC appeal and more than three million people will benefit from UK-funded humanitarian programmes.
